Fragments of Memory…

The trees sway in the wind like laughter as I walk alone tonight. The dogs and birds are fast asleep. I hear my footsteps on the wet pavement.

Walking alone at night my thoughts are random. Strange things come to me. Like, when do bees sleep?

The volume of the night is lower than the volume of the day. It’s easy to write at night but I feel as though I need to sleep.

I saw a cut boy once but I was too shy to walk the few feet between us. He was talking to a friend. I wish I could have met him but I was frozen in place as he walked away.

I am walking home from the library. The air is colder now. I remember it so well. A memory not forgotten. I wish I could live the moment again. A time when things were different.
