These Trees

These trees bend to the wind’s embrace,

dance with the breeze,

and I hold out my hands

searching for a reason to anything.

I’m not afraid of the dark,

what is hidden can remain,

but what I fear the most

is going through life alone.

At night I whisper in my head,

a prayer for love

but an empty bed is all I will ever have.

Spinning like planets around the sun,

hoping our orbits will collide into love.

I follow the stars above

until the sun replaces their glow.

Could I ever find you now

when all I know is the inside of this house?

These trees I see through my window now

made me think of someone so rooted in my mind.
