Mary and Rose:

Mary and Rose walk through a park.

They browse flowers along the edge of the path.

Mary: I was thinking about the don’t say gay nonsense.

Rose: I think queer is the word I prefer.

Mary: That’s not the point of what they’re attempting.

Rose: What’s it about then?

Mary: They want us to go back into the closet and pretend we’re like the heterosexuals. They are want to overlook the history of our community.

Rose: How could they erase our history when we’re such a big part of history?
